All of our boarders are self-sufficient horse people who enjoy being able to do their own thing with their horse.  There are many retired horses, riders who used to show but now enjoy the trails, riders who still show but like the relaxed, fun atmosphere.

 

Horses are turned out as much as possible, weather permitting, and stalls are cleaned regularly. We encourage our boarders to take an active part in the care of their horses. Because we do everything we can to keep our board as low as possible, we encourage boarders to help out with the little things when they can. We do not cater to the high-maintenance crowd.

We do not provide services such as supervising your horse during vet/farrier visits or arranging those appointments, application and removal of blankets or wraps, etc.

Evergreen Lake Stables has a good atmosphere, and boarders help each other by planning vet and farrier visits so as to share the costs and supervision duties.

Board is currently $325 for new boarders and includes: grain twice a day (see questions page for the kind of grain & hay) enough hay to keep your horse healthy, psillium the first week of the month (to clear out the sand) and a full water bucket. Boarders may provide their own fan in the summer, and are expected to provide a heated water bucket in the winter. we do not scrub water buckets, everyone keeps their own bucket clean. Stalls are cleaned and horses are turned out daily- even on holidays.
